Originally from Kentucky, Dr. Ditto's academic journey began with a B.A. in Chemistry from Asbury University in Wilmore. Following this, he pursued advanced studies at Asbury Theological Seminary and the University of Kentucky. He earned a B.S. in Physiological Optics in 1976 and a Doctor of Optometry degree in 1978 from the esteemed University of Alabama in Birmingham (UAB) School of Optometry. In recognition of his exceptional performance, he was awarded the prestigious Vodnoy Clinical Optometry Science Award during his senior year at UAB.
Dr. Ditto's affiliations include membership in the Kentucky Optometric Association, the Southern Council of Optometry, and the American Optometric Association. He is actively involved in the Jessamine County community, serving on the Jessamine County Board of Health and previously acting as a Director of the Jessamine County Chamber of Commerce. His dedication to his field was highlighted in 2008 when the Kentucky Optometric Association honored him with the Optometrist of the Year title.
Practicing in Nicholasville, KY, since 1978, Dr. Ditto, along with Dr. Musick, established the well-regarded Nicholasville office of Kentucky Eye Institute, known today as Drs. Ditto & Musick Eye Care Center. The center offers comprehensive optometric care services for all ages, complemented by a comprehensive retail optical dispensary called Jessamine Optical.
While offering a wide spectrum of optometric care, Dr. Ditto's specialized interests lie in contact lenses, co-management of refractive surgeries like LASIK, cataract surgery co-management, and treating acute eye conditions and anterior segment eye diseases. His extensive expertise encompasses correcting various refractive errors using rigid gas-permeable or soft contact lenses, including challenging cases. Additionally, he excels in addressing presbyopia through monovision or multifocal lens designs.
